Finding The Right Gulfstream Jet for Sale

Perhaps you were a fan of Top Gun and always dreamed of owning your own jet, or maybe you are just sick to death of all of the Homeland Security hassles of modern air travel. Regardless, you have now begun your search for a Gulfstream jet for sale.

When looking for a Gulfstream jet for sale you may be inclined to check out online classifieds or even industry magazines. While this approach may certainly provide you with quite a few listings it only takes you the first few steps along the way. After all, purchasing a jet aircraft is a little different than buying a car. You will want to know:

1.       How long has the aircraft been in use?
2.       How many nautical miles has it flown?
3.       What maintenance has been performed outside of routine?
4.       Were there any upgrades to the model?
5.       What is the cabin configuration?
6.       How many passengers can it carry?
7.       When was the last time the environmental units were inspected?
8.       Which cockpit is included in your jet (IE, what are the avionics and instruments)?
9.       Lease or buy?
10.    What type of insurance must you hold on the planet?
11.    How many prior owners?
12.    What is the condition of the interior?

The list could go on and on, but you get the picture. Even with the answers to all of these questions there would still need to be outside consultants brought into the purchase to verify that the engine, landing gear, cockpit avionics, and environmental systems are all tip-top shape. You will also be in contact with lenders, leasing agents, and insurance agents. While owning a Gulfstream very well may be the culmination of childhood fantasies, the realities of buying one can bring you back down to earth.
This is why many individuals buying a Gulfstream prefer to go through brokers like L&L International for their purchases. Instead of you calling around to ask questions about a particular jet, they bring the answers to you. Instead of you finding a mechanic to consult, they provide one for you. Instead of you negotiating and haggling with the seller, they broker the deal so that you can relax and just sign the papers.
Brokers usually have multiple aircraft they can show you and are always quite willing to go out in search of a particular craft if they do not have a particular plane in their stable. In a big ticket item purchase it is always comforting to have a subject matter expert around to lend a hand.
