Global Express XRS: Every inch better

If you are impressed with the lineage of the Global Express, your mind will be blown away by its direct descendant: the Bombardier Global Express XRS. To simplify, engineers took whatever good characteristics of the Global Express and crank it up several notches higher. After trimming the bad parts and weeding out the negative tendencies, what you have left is a business jet on steroids: it is just faster, has quicker reflexes and longer cruise capacity.

It's perfect for a business jet because the Global Express XRS is ready to fly with only a 30-minute headstart. While it thrives in short distances, it doesn't shy away from long trips because it can fly at an altitude of 51,500 feet without losing much of its speed and performance. With an average acceleration of 0.85 Mach, it is capable of hitting 0.87 Mach and flying non-stop between Tokyo in Japan and New York, U.S.A.
The heart of the XRS are two Rolls-Royce Deutschland BR710A2-20 turbofan engines with full authority digital engine control and able to deliver nearly 29,000 pounds of thrust upon take-off. In case of emergency, an auxilliary unit powered by The Honeywell Aerospace is installed on the tail.
On to the cockpit: the flight deck depends on the Honeywell Primus 2000 XP II avionics system. If that meeting couldn't wait even in low-visibility weather, the Global Express XRS features the enhanced vision system with head-up display and SureSight sensor unique to the Bombardier, which aids the pilot in extreme conditions. For better measure, Bombardier also installed the Max-Vis EVS-1000 enhanced vision system for the XRS.
Its flexibility enables the XRS to fly where other business jets fear to tread. It doesn't even flinch when landing on 2,800 feet runways, assuming perfect weather conditions of course, or taking off from a 4,000 feet runway.
Of course, you don't really talk about any Global Express jets without mentioning the cabin. Billed as the “hotel in the sky,” the XRS comes with all the features of its predecessor, only better. The interior layout can also be altered and refitted to suit the client's taste. It comes with a standard Honeywell satellite and Teledyne Magnastar communications system to support high-speed Internet, LAN network and fax service so the client can continue holding office in the sky.
Try looking at the Global Express XRS to find out why the business jet consistently receive high marks from reviewers, operators and business clients. The L&L International Ltd., a jet brokerage company, can help you check out the features of the plane before deciding to purchase one.
